Cookie Policy
1. About this statement
This Cookie Statement explains how Speaksee B.V. uses cookies and similar technologies on its websites and in connection with its services, including interfaces used with the Speaksee Microphone Kit and Speaksee SoundShape. It describes the categories of technologies we use, the information they may collect, why we use them, the role of third-party providers and the choices available to you.
Cookies can involve the processing of personal data. Where that happens, the Speaksee Privacy Statement also applies. If there is a difference between this statement and a specific consent choice you have made through the cookie settings tool, your recorded choice governs whether optional technologies may be activated.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. They can help a website remember information, maintain a session, support security, measure use or understand whether a feature works as intended.
Speaksee may also use similar technologies that do not necessarily place a traditional browser cookie, such as local storage, software development kits, device or session identifiers, tags and diagnostic tools. In this statement, we use the term “cookies” to refer to cookies and comparable technologies unless a distinction is relevant.
3. Our approach
Speaksee uses cookies and similar technologies for defined operational, security, analytics and reliability purposes. We aim to limit collection to information that is relevant to those purposes and to separate technical usage information from the content of conversations processed through Speaksee services, including the Microphone Kit and SoundShape.
Optional technologies are not used merely because they are available. Where consent is required, they are activated only after you have made a valid choice. Essential technologies remain available where they are necessary to provide a service you request, maintain security or ensure core functionality.
4. Categories of cookies and technologies
4.1 Strictly necessary and essential technologies
These technologies support functions that are necessary for the website or service, including relevant Microphone Kit and SoundShape interfaces, to operate. Depending on the implementation, they may be used for session management, authentication, security, load balancing, fraud prevention, preference storage or other core functionality. Because they are necessary for the requested service or its security, they may remain active even when you reject optional cookies.
4.2 Analytics and usage insights
Analytics technologies help us understand how visitors and users interact with our websites and services. This may include information about pages visited, session duration, navigation paths, feature interactions, device and browser information and general usage patterns. Where applicable law requires consent, these technologies are not activated until consent has been obtained.
4.3 Performance and diagnostics
Performance and diagnostic technologies help us detect faults, investigate errors, monitor service health and improve reliability. The information involved may include device or browser details, software version, session activity, network performance and technical diagnostics. Whether consent is required depends on how a specific technology is configured and whether it is strictly necessary. If it is non-essential, Speaksee treats it as optional and applies the relevant consent requirement.
5. Third-party providers
Speaksee uses trusted service providers to support analytics, product insights and technical reliability. The providers identified in the current Speaksee materials are listed below. Their exact technical configuration may change over time.

We use Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, to understand how visitors interact with our website, measure advertising performance, and show relevant advertisements. Meta may receive information about your device and your interactions with our website. Where required, these technologies are activated only after you provide consent through our cookie banner. You can also always opt-out.
6. Information collected through these technologies
Depending on the technology and your interaction with the website or service, including Microphone Kit or SoundShape interfaces, information may include IP address, device type, browser and operating system information, software version, device or session identifiers, pages visited, session duration, feature interactions, network performance, error details and other technical diagnostics.
The presence of analytics or diagnostic information does not mean that Speaksee stores the content of spoken conversations. Under the Speaksee Privacy Statement, live conversation audio is processed in real time and is not retained after processing, while transcripts are not stored by default. Conversation data is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling or to train, fine-tune or improve AI or machine-learning models.
7. Consent and your choices
Where consent is required, Speaksee asks for a choice before activating non-essential cookies or similar technologies. You can accept optional technologies, reject them or manage your preferences by category through the cookie settings tool. Essential technologies that are required for the security, functionality or operation of the website or service remain active.
You can change or withdraw a consent choice at any time through the cookie settings tool. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal. Rejecting optional analytics technologies should not prevent access to the normal core functionality of the website or service.
8. Retention and deletion
Cookies and similar technologies can have different lifetimes. Some operate only for a session, while others may remain for a defined period so that a preference, identifier or measurement can be recognised on a later visit. Backend analytics or diagnostic records may also have a retention period that differs from the lifetime of a browser cookie.
Speaksee aims to keep cookie-related personal data no longer than necessary for the relevant purpose and in line with its retention schedules. The current cookie settings tool should identify the active cookies or technologies and their applicable duration. When a service or configuration changes, the technical inventory and this statement should be reviewed together.
9. Sharing and international transfers
Information collected through cookies and similar technologies may be processed by Speaksee and by service providers acting on Speaksee’s behalf. Providers are expected to process personal data only for the agreed service, protect confidentiality and security, and comply with applicable contractual restrictions.
Speaksee’s default position is that personal data is processed within the EU/EEA. Where a provider or support arrangement requires processing or access outside the EEA, Speaksee uses an appropriate legal safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional safeguards where required.
10. Advertising, profiling, AI training and sale of data
Speaksee does not use personal data to create advertising profiles and does not sell personal data. In particular, conversation audio, audio streams and transcripts are not used for advertising, behavioural profiling or to train, fine-tune or improve AI or machine-learning models. Analytics and diagnostic technologies are used for the operational, usage-insight and reliability purposes described in this statement.
11. Your privacy rights
Where cookie-related information is personal data, you may have rights under the GDPR, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. The availability of a particular right depends on the processing and the applicable legal conditions.
To exercise a privacy right or ask a question about cookie-related personal data, contact hello@speak-see.com. You also have the right to complain to a competent supervisory authority, including the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
12. Updates and contact
We may update this Cookie Statement when our websites, services, suppliers, technical configurations or legal obligations change. The current version should be made available through the relevant Speaksee channel together with its effective date.
